Patna, March 21: The political landscape is heating up as elections are announced in four states and one union territory, including Assam. Despite Priyanka Gandhi being appointed in charge of Assam, Congress leaders are abandoning the party. Bihar’s Agriculture Minister and BJP leader Ramkripal Yadav targeted Congress during a recent conversation.
Yadav stated, “There is nothing left in Congress. The party is completely submerged. Congress is finished. Why would anyone risk their future? Congress workers and legislators have become cautious, which is why they are leaving the party.”
He also criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her announcement of monthly assistance of 1700 rupees to SC/ST women. Yadav questioned, “Where has Mamata Banerjee been until now? Why is she suddenly remembering SC/ST issues? She has exploited the people and robbed the poor. No matter what she says, people will no longer trust her.”
On the other hand, RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari refuted the claims about Congress leaders leaving despite Priyanka Gandhi’s leadership in the Assam elections. He remarked, “Who can stop those who want to leave? However, many good people are joining us due to Congress’s policies. Those spreading negativity are baseless.”
The Election Commission announced elections on March 15 for four states and one union territory, including West Bengal and Assam. Voting for West Bengal’s 294 assembly seats will occur in two phases on April 23 and 29. Assam will vote for its 126 seats in a single phase on April 9, with results for all states to be declared together on May 4.
