Singapore, April 26: Gaganjeet Bhullar’s performance at the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) 2026 in Singapore was disappointing. The tournament took place at the Sentosa Golf Club. Bhullar started the week strong but ended with a score of 2-over 73, placing him jointly in 26th position.
The four-time IGPL champion and eleven-time Asian Tour winner made an early birdie on the second hole. However, he lost four shots over the next seven holes. On the back nine, he managed birdies on the 10th, 17th, and 18th holes but also recorded a double bogey on the 15th, finishing with a total score of 73.
The best-performing Indian player on the final day was AM Green’s Pukhraj Singh Gill. He achieved his best score of the week with a 4-under 67, including five birdies and one bogey, also tying for 26th place with Bhullar. The only other Indian player to make the cut was Karandeep Kochhar, who finished in 70th place with a score of 76.
Korea’s Jeongwoo Ham maintained his lead for the fourth consecutive day, winning with a score of 3-under 68, achieving a ‘wire-to-wire’ victory. Australian Cameron John put up a strong challenge, finishing with a score of 66.
Ham concluded the event with a score of 3-under-par 68, reaching a total of 16-under and defeating John by two shots. John scored 66, while Spain’s Josele Ballester (66), Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond (68), and Japan’s Tomohiro Ishizaka (70) tied for third, all seven shots behind the winner.
With this result, both Ham and John secured their spots in the upcoming ‘Open Championship’ at Royal Birkdale this summer, as this tournament is part of the ‘Open Qualifying Series.’ Weather played a significant role on Sunday; after three days of humid heat, clouds gathered, and morning thunderstorms delayed play for over three and a half hours.
Ham becomes the second Korean player to win this event, following Younghan Song in 2016, who defeated then-world number one Jordan Spieth by one stroke at the same venue. This marks Ham’s first victory on the Asian Tour, having played only 24 events in eight years as a professional, with 16 of those in his home country.
The Asian Tour will quickly move on to the ‘GS Caltex Maekyung Open’ next week, one of Korea’s most prestigious events, celebrating its 45th edition at the Namseoul Country Club, south of Seoul.
