
Abu Dhabi, March 31: Four individuals were injured, including two Indian nationals, when debris from a successfully intercepted missile fell on residential homes in southern Dubai on Tuesday.
According to a statement from the Dubai Government Media Office, the incident was managed according to the highest safety standards.
The media office confirmed via the social media platform ‘X’ that two Indian citizens, one Bangladeshi, and one Sri Lankan sustained minor injuries from the falling debris during the missile interception. They emphasized that the situation was handled with utmost care and urged the public to rely on official sources for updates.
The Dubai Government Media Office also stated that they are taking action regarding the incident, which resulted in property damage and minor injuries to four Asian nationals.
This incident comes amid ongoing conflicts in West Asia, which escalated following attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States on February 28, leading to the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and top military officials.
In retaliation, Iran has launched drone and missile attacks targeting U.S. and Israeli facilities, regional capitals, and allied forces in West Asia.
Meanwhile, the UAE’s Ministry of Defense reported that its air defense system successfully neutralized eight ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles, and 36 UAVs launched from Iran on Tuesday.
Since the onset of Iranian attacks, the UAE has intercepted a total of 433 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles, and 1,977 UAVs, according to the Ministry of Defense.
The ministry also noted that two members of the armed forces were martyred while fulfilling their national duty, along with a contracted Moroccan national. Additionally, eight individuals, including citizens from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and India, lost their lives.
In total, 188 people have been injured in these attacks, with injuries ranging from minor to severe. The injured include nationals from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.
