Patna, June 23: Tej Pratap Yadav, a former minister and leader of the Jan Shakti Janata Dal, has filed a written complaint against his personal assistant, Motilal Rai, at the Secretariat police station in Patna. He alleges that Rai stole cash and other valuable items from his residence.
In his complaint, Yadav has requested the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) and swift legal action. The son of RJD president Lalu Yadav stated in his application to the police that Motilal Rai absconded with approximately 20 lakhs in cash and other valuables from his residence located at 42, Harding Road in Patna.
According to Yadav, the cash was related to party funds. The stolen items reportedly include a 2-tola gold chain, a gold ring, four Sony pen drives, two hard disks, an iPad, a MacBook laptop, a Lenovo laptop, and four iPhone 17 Pro Max mobile phones.
Tej Pratap Yadav claims that the incident occurred on the night of June 22, 2026. He stated that around 11:30 PM, his driver Anil Yadav and a resident named Vishal witnessed Motilal Rai fleeing the premises with a bag, having jumped over the boundary wall. Both have been named as eyewitnesses in the case. The former minister has urged the police to promptly file an FIR, ensure the arrest of the accused, and recover the stolen cash and items.
The police have confirmed that they are investigating the complaint and will take further action based on the facts and evidence available. Currently, they are focused on gathering statements from eyewitnesses and other evidence related to the case.
