Raipur, August 3 (H.S.): Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking protection from arrest. The move comes after his name surfaced in connection with alleged scams related to liquor, coal, and the Mahadev betting app. He has filed an anticipatory bail plea, which is scheduled for hearing on Monday.

Sources from the former Chief Minister’s office informed that the petition requests the court to restrain authorities from arresting him in any of the mentioned cases and to allow him the opportunity to cooperate with the ongoing investigations.
In the petition, Bhupesh Baghel has also alleged that he may be targeted due to political vendetta, similar to the recent arrest of his son Chaitanya Baghel, which he claims was politically motivated.
