Film ‘Shatak’ to Chronicle RSS’s Century-Long Journey

Mumbai: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has completed 100 years since its establishment. To mark this significant milestone, the makers have officially announced a feature film titled ‘Shatak’. The film will depict the 100-year journey of the RSS, covering its founding, contributions, and growth over the decades.

Directed by Ashish Mall and produced by Veer Kapoor, with Ashish Tiwari as co-producer, ‘Shatak’ is presented by Ada 360 Degree LLP. The filmmakers have confirmed that the movie will release in theatres this year. The narrative focuses on the RSS’s ideology, social initiatives, and national contributions, aiming to introduce its history to the younger generation.

The film will showcase key events, struggles, and achievements from the past century. According to the makers, ‘Shatak’ will be inspiring not only for RSS members but also for the general audience.

Film critic and analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on his Instagram, along with the motion poster. He stated, “The announcement of ‘Shatak’ has been made. This film will portray the 100-year journey of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. RSS has completed a century, marking an important chapter in its history. Veer Kapoor is producing the film, Ashish Tiwari is co-producing, and Ashish Mall is directing. The film is scheduled for release this year.”

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, founded in 1925 by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur, is a Hindu nationalist organisation. Its primary objectives are to organise the Hindu society, promote nationalism, and uplift communities through service activities. RSS operates branches across India, providing physical training, discipline, and cultural education. The organisation has also made significant contributions in disaster relief, education, and healthcare sectors.
