Patna, April 8: The family of businessman Binda Prasad Singh from Patna is anxiously waiting for his remains to return from Vietnam following his death. Four days have passed without any progress, prompting the family to appeal to the central government for assistance.
Binda Singh’s wife, Malti Devi, expressed her distress in a conversation with a news agency. “I request the government to bring my husband’s body and my children back to India. Please help us as soon as possible. It has been four days since my husband passed away. Only we know how we are managing as a family. I am in no condition to speak properly. We are completely shattered,” she said.
She further shared, “I last spoke to my husband on March 10. He told me he would reach the airport from the hotel in an hour. After that, there was no communication. He suffered a heart attack at the airport and was hospitalized. On March 24, my grandson called to say that grandfather had regained consciousness. Since then, we have been trying to sort out the visa issues. The visa got delayed, and in the meantime, my husband passed away.”
Malti Devi emphasized, “The Modi government always helps everyone. They should help us too. Our two children are also in Vietnam, but the body cannot return to India due to visa issues.”
Binda Singh’s granddaughter, Manisha Singh, recounted, “This incident happened almost a month ago. Just before boarding the plane, he suffered a heart attack. He was admitted to a hospital, but the facilities were inadequate. The hospital management and local authorities advised my brothers and uncle to transfer him to another hospital, assuring that he could return once his condition stabilized. Although grandfather’s condition improved, he later passed away.”
Manisha added that the Vietnamese police and administration are not providing assistance. The Indian embassy has been informed about the incident and is working to help. However, visa clearance from Vietnam is still pending.
