Siwar, April 15: Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team and former cricketer, visited the renowned Khatu Shyam Temple on Wednesday to offer prayers. Members of the temple committee conducted rituals for him in accordance with tradition.
Upon his arrival, a large crowd of devotees and fans gathered. Many were seen taking photos and recording videos with him.
In a conversation with the media, Gambhir expressed his faith, stating, “Baba calls me, and his blessings are always with me. I hope Baba continues to call me back.”
He praised the temple’s arrangements, saying, “The facilities for darshan here are excellent,” and expressed hope that more devotees would come to seek Baba’s blessings in the future.
Gambhir further added, “Baba is considered a support for the defeated. Anyone who comes here after facing defeat receives positive outcomes.”
Notably, under Gambhir’s coaching, India won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 last month. On March 8, the Indian national cricket team defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, securing the trophy. With this victory, India became the first team to win the T20 World Cup three times and successfully defended the title on home soil.
It is worth mentioning that Gambhir was also a member of the 2007 T20 World Cup-winning team. Now, as both a player and coach, he has achieved another significant milestone in his career. This accomplishment places him in an exclusive club with coaches like Rahul Dravid and Lalchand Rajput, who have led India to T20 World Cup victories.
