When it comes to grains, light and nutritious options like barley, rice, and wheat are beneficial. These grains provide strength and help reduce heat in the body. Conversely, heavier pulses such as urad dal and kulthi should be avoided as they can generate excess heat.
For fruits, those with a Pitta nature should focus on sweet and light varieties. Apples, pears, figs, raisins, and amla are excellent choices. These fruits offer cooling effects and relief to the body. It is advisable to steer clear of sour or overly spicy fruits, although pomegranates and amla can be consumed in moderation.
In terms of vegetables, sweet and bitter varieties help balance Pitta. Consuming cucumbers, bitter gourds, peas, pointed gourds, and asparagus can keep the body cool. On the other hand, it is best to limit the intake of heat-producing or spicy vegetables like eggplant, onions, garlic, carrots, and spinach.

Conversely, consuming meat, especially from aquatic animals, can increase Pitta, so it is advisable to avoid it. Natural sweeteners like sugarcane and certain dried herbs can assist in maintaining balance.
Additionally, lifestyle changes are essential. Individuals with a Pitta constitution should avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Spending time near open water, listening to music, and incorporating fountains or water sounds at home can be soothing. These practices help calm the mind and reduce body heat.
