
Bulandshahr, March 21: An encounter occurred on Friday between police and a criminal near Jewar, as reported by CO Mishra. The Sikandarabad police were conducting a routine check when they signaled a suspicious motorcycle to stop. The rider attempted to flee, prompting the police to pursue him. During the chase, the suspect lost control and fell.
CO Mishra stated that as the suspect realized he was cornered, he opened fire on the police team with the intent to kill. In self-defense, the police shot the suspect in the leg. The suspect, identified as Nivesh alias Nainu Mavi, son of Amarjeet, is a resident of Joli village. During interrogation, it was revealed that he was involved as a conspirator in the Anil Mavi murder case on Holi. He is also wanted in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
The CO further disclosed that the motorcycle recovered from the suspect was reported stolen from the Sikandarabad area. Additionally, a country-made pistol, one live cartridge, and one spent cartridge were seized from him. The suspect has been sent for primary medical treatment, and legal proceedings are underway.
It is noteworthy that on March 18, police in Mathura conducted an encounter with a notorious criminal linked to a shooting incident on Holi, arresting the main accused and his accomplices.
Earlier, on February 27, an encounter took place in Agra involving the UP STF’s Noida unit and local police, resulting in serious injuries to a notorious criminal identified as Pawan alias Kallu.
