Emraan Hashmis Rooh Blends Romance and Horror with a Musical Touch
Emraan Hashmi returns to horror with Rooh, a film weaving romance and music into its chilling narrative, set for a 2027 release.
Mumbai, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : Emraan Hashmi is set to make a thrilling return to the horror genre with his upcoming film, ‘Rooh’. This movie promises to intertwine elements of fear and romance, with music playing a pivotal role in its storytelling. Hashmi emphasized the importance of music in connecting with audiences, noting that it has always been a significant aspect of his films.
Discussing the film’s soundtrack, Hashmi expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Kumar Taurani. He stated, “Working with Kumar Taurani on this film feels like fate. Music has always been essential in how audiences engage with my films. With ‘Rooh’, we aim to present music that encapsulates the film’s essence. It will revolve around themes of romance, mystery, and deep emotions.”
The project sees a partnership between Tips Films and Tips Music, with Taurani and Hashmi co-producing ‘Rooh’. This musical horror film will not only focus on fear but also highlight emotional and romantic elements.
Kumar Taurani reflected on their collaboration, saying, “Our connection with Emraan is special, as we were the producers of his debut film, ‘Footpath’. Over the years, we’ve achieved memorable successes together. Now, with ‘Rooh’, we are excited to recreate that magic. Directed by Mayank Sharma, the film’s story is co-written by Sharma and Vishal Kapoor. ‘Rooh’ aims to blend horror and romance seamlessly, with music serving as a crucial narrative device.

Co-producer Vikas Sahni will oversee the film’s music, which will be developed under the Tips Music banner. The film is slated for release in 2027 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
