Nora Fatehi Clarifies Her Role in Sukesh Chandrashekhar Case as a Witness, Not an Accused
Nora Fatehis legal team confirms she is a witness in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar case, not an accused, following a court hearing.

Mumbai, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : Actress Nora Fatehi’s legal team has emphasized that she is not an accused in the case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. According to her lawyers, the court has summoned her solely as a witness in this matter. They stated that she is cooperating with the investigation and judicial process.
This clarification follows a court hearing on November 2 at Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. Nora was expected to testify regarding the case linked to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW). However, her attorneys informed the court that she received the summons on short notice and could not attend due to prior professional commitments.
In response, Nora’s team filed a request for exemption from personal appearance. After reviewing the application, the court postponed the matter until November 6 and issued a new summons for her to appear.
In a statement to the media, Nora’s legal team explained, “The EOW case related to Sukesh Chandrashekhar was heard today at Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. Nora Fatehi was summoned as a witness. Her lawyer appeared in court and indicated that Nora received the summons very recently. Due to her pre-existing professional commitments, she was unable to be present in court.”
The statement further clarified, “An application for exemption from personal appearance was filed, leading to the court postponing the hearing until November 6, 2026, and issuing a new summons for Nora. It is made clear that Nora Fatehi is neither an accused in this case nor is she charged with any crime. She has been called only to assist the court proceedings as a witness.”
The case revolves around Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who allegedly ran a ₹200 crore extortion racket while incarcerated in Delhi’s Rohini Jail. Reports indicate that he posed as a senior government official to defraud individuals.
The investigation has been conducted by the EOW of the Delhi Police, which subsequently filed a charge sheet under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
During the investigation, Nora Fatehi was questioned regarding her alleged connections with Sukesh Chandrashekhar and his wife, Leena Maria Paulos. Additionally, her statement was recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) before a magistrate. Later, the police included Nora as a prosecution witness in a supplementary charge sheet.
