Bengaluru, 1 January – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Bengaluru zonal office conducted a raid on the office of an accounting firm linked to the online real money gaming platform Vinzo Private Limited on 30 December under Section 17 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002.
Vinzo Private Limited offers online real money gaming services through its app ‘Vinzo’. During the search, ED froze nearly ₹192 crore identified as proceeds of crime (POC) linked to M/s Vinzo Games Private Limited, held in bank balances, fixed deposits, and mutual funds under Section 17(1A) of PMLA. This entity is a wholly owned Indian subsidiary of Vinzo Private Limited.
Earlier, on 18 November, ED had also conducted searches and seizures at the office of Vinzo Private Limited and the residence of its directors. Evidence gathered during these searches and subsequent investigations revealed the company’s involvement in alleged criminal activities and fraudulent practices.
The investigation found that customers on the Vinzo app were unknowingly made to play real money games using bots, AI, algorithms, and software referred to as PPP, EP, and Persona, creating the illusion of playing against real players. Additionally, the company imposed restrictions or blocked withdrawals from customers’ wallets.
ED’s probe further revealed that Vinzo earned proceeds of crime as ‘rack commission’ through matches played against bots. Between May 2024 and August 2025, approximately ₹177 crore was earned via bots, while from April 2022 to December 2023, earnings reached around ₹557 crore. Despite the central government’s ban on real money games, the company still held about ₹43 crore from users.
So far, investigations indicate that M/s Vinzo Private Limited generated total proceeds of crime amounting to approximately ₹802 crore.
ED also found that a portion of the proceeds of crime was sent abroad from India under the guise of foreign investment. Approximately 54 million US dollars were transferred to a bank account in the US under the name ‘Vinzo US Inc’. According to ED, this is a shell company as all operations, daily business activities, and bank account management are conducted from India.
