New Delhi, March 7: Shiv Sena UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has expressed concerns over the ongoing conflict between the U.S.-Israel and Iran, stating that it is causing significant global repercussions. She emphasized that India will face substantial losses due to its energy security being heavily reliant on imports.
Chaturvedi noted that the persistent conflict in Iran will lead to economic challenges for all, but India will feel the impact more acutely. She stressed the importance of India taking a stand to curb the conflict.
Regarding Mamata Banerjee’s protests against the SIR, Chaturvedi remarked that Banerjee’s fight extends beyond West Bengal. She accused certain factions of infringing on voters’ rights under the guise of SIR in every election state.
She reiterated her long-held belief that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has developed a strategy to ensure its dominance, regardless of where votes are cast. Chaturvedi criticized the BJP for its tactics, including breaking parties, undermining opposition, and manipulating the Election Commission to restrict voters’ rights.
On Nitish Kumar’s appointment to the Rajya Sabha, she pointed out that while the people of Bihar voted for Kumar, the BJP swiftly moved to send him to the Rajya Sabha when it suited their interests. She highlighted similar tactics in Maharashtra, where the BJP formed a government by breaking existing coalitions, questioning why such actions are allowed to undermine democracy and the Constitution.
Commenting on the opposition’s no-confidence motion against the Lok Sabha Speaker, Chaturvedi criticized the Speaker’s approach, which she claims silences the opposition. She noted instances where opposition leaders’ microphones were turned off and how the Speaker disregarded opposition issues. Chaturvedi hopes that the no-confidence motion will be presented and discussed on the first day of Parliament.
