Dwarka Police Launches Anti-Drug Campaign, Seizes 3,850 Quarters of Illegal Liquor

New Delhi, May 19: The Dwarka district police have initiated a stringent campaign against drugs and illegal liquor, titled “Control on Drugs, Salute to the Nation.” Under this initiative, special staff and the Anti-Narcotics Cell have collaborated to arrest two interstate illegal liquor suppliers. The police seized 3,850 quarters of illegal liquor and confiscated two vehicles from the suspects.

On May 8, the Dwarka district police conducted raids at two separate locations. In the Najafgarh police area, they apprehended Dharmendra (25 years old, resident of Rohtak, Haryana) near the UER Dichau depot, where 2,500 quarters of illegal liquor were found in his vehicle. The second operation took place near Sai Baba Temple, where Aman (22 years old, resident of Jhilmil, Shahdara) was caught with 1,350 quarters of illegal liquor in his car. Separate FIRs have been registered under sections 33/38/58 (D) of the Delhi Excise Act at Najafgarh police station for both cases.

This campaign, directed by DCP Kushal Pal Singh (IPS), aims to completely halt the supply of illegal liquor and drugs in the Delhi-NCR region. The DCP has instructed his teams to continuously conduct operations to protect the youth from addiction and to rid society of this social evil.

The operation was led by Inspector Kamlesh Kumar, with a team that included Head Constables Pradeep, Sudhir, Jairam, Jitendra Yadav, Jai Bhagwan, Vikas, Gopal Yadav, and other personnel. The entire operation was overseen by ACP (Operations) Subhash Malik.

During interrogation, both suspects admitted to supplying illegal liquor in Delhi and surrounding areas. Aman revealed that he turned to this trade to earn easy money after the death of his parents.

The Dwarka district police have sent a clear message that they will adopt a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against anyone involved in the drug trade. The police stated that this campaign will continue, along with awareness programs aimed at preventing youth from falling into addiction.
