Kupwara, June 18: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Kupwara police in Jammu and Kashmir arrested a suspected drug trafficker in Trehgama and seized narcotics from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused, and an investigation is underway.
A team from the Trehgama police station was conducting regular patrols and surveillance in the area when they noticed suspicious activities from an individual. The police stopped him for questioning and conducted a search as per legal procedures. During the search, they discovered a substance resembling cannabis.
The arrested individual has been identified as Nadeem Ahmed Gojri. The police seized the narcotic on-site and initiated the necessary legal actions. Following this, the accused was taken into custody and transported to the police station for further investigation.
Police officials stated that a detailed inquiry is being conducted regarding the quantity of the seized narcotics and its source. They are also trying to determine whether the accused is linked to a larger drug network. The investigation will include examining the suspect’s contacts and activities.
