
Nawada, March 28: A significant review meeting aimed at enhancing the education system in Nawada district was held on March 28, 2026, under the leadership of District Magistrate Ravi Prakash. The meeting took place in the conference hall of the Collectorate, focusing on the progress of the Nipun Bharat Mission as part of the National Education Policy-2020.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate assessed the directives from the previous meeting. He reported that a total of 90,689 children from grades 1 to 3 had their foundational skills in language and mathematics evaluated, with 75.34% of them deemed proficient. Special campaigns have been instructed to ensure that the remaining children achieve proficiency by June 2026.
The District Magistrate also ordered swift action to provide necessary land for the construction of buildings for landless schools. The review included the construction of ACR/Art rooms, Science rooms, Computer rooms, Library rooms, new school buildings, and separate toilets for boys and girls under the civil section. He emphasized that all construction work must be completed without delay and urged for increased pace in the construction of newly established primary schools.
Twenty-one schools in the district have been selected under the ‘PM Shri Scheme’ to be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Additionally, one model school has been identified in each of the 14 blocks to provide enhanced amenities.
The meeting also revealed that the construction of kitchen sheds in 1,624 schools in the district has been completed, with instructions to expedite the remaining constructions. Special emphasis was placed on ensuring timely availability of quality mid-day meals in all schools.
Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, the application process for the academic year 2026-27 is ongoing on the Gyan Deep portal. So far, 1,949 children have been found eligible, with 1,200 already enrolled in allocated schools.
A total of 253,866 textbooks for children from grades 1 to 8 have been received at all block resource centers and will be distributed among students as the new session begins.
Residential hostels under the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose scheme are operational in Rajouli and Kauakol blocks, currently accommodating 115 students each at the Middle School Chiraila in Rajouli and Bapu Inter School Pandey Gangot in Kauakol.
