Mumbai, June 12: Bollywood actress Disha Patani has quickly carved a niche for herself in the film industry. However, her journey to success has not been as easy as it appears. Few are aware of the struggles she faced to achieve her dreams. At one point, she arrived in Mumbai with only 500 rupees, working tirelessly to reach her current status.
Disha Patani was born on June 13, 1992, in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Her family hails from Tanakpur in Uttarakhand. Her father, Jagdish Singh Patani, served as a police officer, while her mother worked in the health department. From a young age, Disha excelled academically and never envisioned a career in acting; she aspired to become an Air Force pilot or a scientist, pursuing studies in engineering and biotechnology.
Her life took a turn during her college years when a friend encouraged her to participate in a modeling competition, which she won. This victory opened doors to various modeling opportunities, gradually establishing her presence in the advertising world. The experience of acting in front of the camera eventually led her to films.
Reflecting on her struggles, Disha shared in an interview that she arrived in Mumbai with just 500 rupees and no significant support. Instead of seeking financial help from her family, she chose to work hard to forge her own path.
Living in a bustling city like Mumbai was challenging, but Disha remained undeterred. She consistently auditioned, modeled, and dedicated herself to making her dreams a reality. This perseverance became the cornerstone of her success.
In 2015, Disha achieved her first major breakthrough with the Telugu film “Loafer,” where her performance received acclaim. The following year, she landed a role in the Hindi film “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story,” portraying Priyanka Jha, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s first girlfriend. Although her role was brief, her acting won the hearts of the audience.
Since then, Disha has not looked back. She has appeared in films such as “Kung Fu Yoga,” “Baaghi 2,” “Bharat,” “Malang,” “Radhe,” “Ek Villain Returns,” “Yodha,” and “Kalki 2898 AD.” Through her action-packed, romantic, and glamorous roles, she has established a unique identity in the industry. Disha is also frequently in the spotlight for her fitness regimen.
