Uttar Pradesh Unveils Electric Buses and Infrastructure Developments

Noida, June 12: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched electric buses for Gautam Buddh Nagar and inaugurated the Noida Electric Bus Depot on Friday. He emphasized the state’s commitment to modern and eco-friendly transportation, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of green mobility and sustainable development.

CM Yogi highlighted that prior to 2017, Uttar Pradesh was known for its dilapidated roads, power shortages, poor law and order, and lack of investor interest. However, over the past nine years, the state has transformed its infrastructure, connectivity, and investment landscape. He claimed that Uttar Pradesh now boasts the strongest road network in the country, with nearly 400,000 kilometers of roads developed.

He noted that expressways and air connectivity have significantly changed the state’s image. Projects like the Ganga Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, and Bundelkhand Expressway have placed Uttar Pradesh on the national and global investment map. The Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway is also set to be inaugurated soon, promising to accelerate the state’s industrial and economic growth.

Speaking about Ayodhya, CM Yogi mentioned that the city, which faced neglect for centuries, has now gained international recognition. Several international airports are operational in the state, including those in Ayodhya, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kushinagar, and Noida. The Jewar International Airport is poised to become one of the largest aviation projects in the country.

Regarding the electric bus service, the Chief Minister stated that the introduction of 110 buses in Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Authority area marks a significant step towards a clean and modern public transport system. He added that in the next phase, electric buses will be operated by all three authorities, providing passengers with better, safer, and environmentally friendly transportation options.
