Dehradun, March 25: Nestled in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, the Maa Kunjapuri Devi Temple is a significant center of faith. This temple, located in the majestic Himalayas, serves not only as a place of worship but also as a spiritual haven. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, where parts of Sati are believed to have fallen.

He encouraged everyone to visit the temple, writing, “Make sure to visit Maa Kunjapuri when you come to Tehri Garhwal.”
This temple is considered one of the 52 Shakti Peethas. According to mythology, when Lord Shiva was lamenting over Sati’s mortal remains, Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshan Chakra to dismember her body. It is believed that the upper part of Sati, known as ‘Kunj,’ fell here, leading to the name ‘Kunjapuri.’
The temple’s grandeur and natural beauty are breathtaking. Perched atop a hill, it is filled with spiritual energy. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of Swargarohini, Gangotri, Bandarpunch, Chaukhamba, and the Doon Valley. The temple is also a favored spot for witnessing sunrises, attracting devotees who come to experience both the divine and the Himalayan landscape. While the temple is open year-round, it sees a special influx of visitors during Navratri.
