
Jammu, March 25: The atmosphere is electric as thousands of devotees arrive in Katra for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage during the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri. With faith and devotion, pilgrims are making their way to the holy shrine, hoping for blessings from the divine mother and peace for the nation.
On the seventh day of Navratri, a large crowd gathered at the Darshani Deodi in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. This is the starting point for the sacred journey to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. Since early Wednesday morning, a steady stream of devotees has been arriving from various parts of the country. The air is filled with chants of “Jai Mata Di,” creating a vibrant and spiritual atmosphere as everyone eagerly anticipates their visit to the goddess.
One devotee shared that he has been visiting the shrine for the past 20 years and makes it a point to attend twice a year. He expressed that coming here brings him a unique sense of peace and strength. He praised the administration and the Shrine Board for their effective management, noting that everything is well-organized despite the large number of visitors.
There are also first-time visitors among the crowd. One female devotee expressed her long-held desire to visit Vaishno Devi and shared her immense joy at finally being here. She considered it a great fortune to have the opportunity to visit the goddess’s abode. Another pilgrim from Meerut mentioned that this journey is particularly special for him and that he views it as a memorable experience of a lifetime.
During this period, special arrangements for security and amenities have been made in Katra. Police and administrative teams are stationed at various points to ensure that devotees face no difficulties. Medical facilities, as well as provisions for food and water, have been organized efficiently to cater to the needs of the pilgrims.
