Diljit Dosanjh Honors Legends Before Madison Square Garden Performance

Mumbai, June 8: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is once again in the spotlight for his unique style. He recently posted a video on Instagram, expressing that the energy he feels on stage is a tribute to the legends who paved the way for Punjabi music. This video was shared just before his performance at Madison Square Garden.

In the video, Diljit states, “This energy is not just mine; it comes from the artists who began the journey of bringing Punjabi music to the world.”

He pays homage to several great artists, saying, “This energy is a gift from legends like Michael Jackson, Amar Singh Chamkila, Lala Chand Yamla Jatt, Gurdaas Maan, Surinder Shinda, Kuldeep Manak, and Mohammad Sadiq. These artists worked tirelessly to give Punjabi music its identity, enabling artists like me to reach this level. If they hadn’t started, this success wouldn’t be possible today.”

The video features Diljit performing his popular song “Pehle Lalkare,” from his film “Amar Singh Chamkila.”

On stage, Diljit declares, “Every artist who has worked for Punjabi music is with me today. Lala Chand Yamla Jatt is here, Kuldeep Manak is here, Mohammad Sadiq is here, and Chamkila is also here at Madison Square Garden. I do not feel alone at this moment.”

Diljit Dosanjh is not only active in music but also in films. He will soon be seen in the movie “Main Wapas Aaoonga,” a period romantic drama featuring Sharvari Wagh, Naseeruddin Shah, and Vedang Raina in key roles.

“Main Wapas Aaoonga” is set to release in theaters on June 12, 2026.
