New Delhi, April 22: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reacted on Wednesday to comments made by Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He described Banerjee’s remarks as “hollow threats” that reveal growing frustration.
Pradhan shared his response on the social media platform X earlier today. He stated that such language reflects the increasing desperation within the Trinamool leadership. When election campaigns resort to threats and provocations, it confirms what the people of West Bengal have endured under Trinamool Congress rule for years.
He emphasized that Amit Shah has spoken about democracy, security, and accountable governance. Banerjee’s comments are once again a public display of empty threats. Bengal needs political dialogue, not intimidation; it requires leadership, not mere displays of political power.
Concluding his remarks, Pradhan noted that the people of Bengal are closely observing these developments. Every such statement strengthens their resolve to reject politics of fear and stand firmly for democratic change.
Banerjee claimed, “I have learned that BJP goons entered the home of Trinamool Congress supporter Gorai Kuila in Sabang, abusing and threatening him in front of his two-year-old daughter. The BJP, blinded by arrogance, believes they can achieve through bullets and terror what they cannot through ballots.”
Later, Banerjee warned that the electoral mandate will be executed democratically, by the people themselves. He referred to BJP leaders as “outsiders” and challenged the so-called “Bengal-hating outsiders” to be present in Bengal on May 4.
