Gujarats Deputy CM Highlights Action Against Criminal Properties with Bulldozer Initiative

Bhuj, April 22: Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi announced on Wednesday that the state is taking action against illegal properties owned by criminals and anti-social elements through what he termed the “Chief Minister’s Bulldozer.” He emphasized that this initiative is part of the government’s efforts to maintain law and order.

Speaking at a rally following a roadshow for the local body elections in Bhuj, he stated, “Today, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s bulldozer is targeting the illegal properties and encroachments of anti-social elements and criminals.”

Sanghvi reiterated the BJP government’s commitment to development while ensuring a robust law and order situation. The roadshow, which attracted a large crowd, commenced from Jubilee Circle and continued to the sixth round.

Criticizing the previous Congress administrations, he claimed they failed to provide basic amenities such as electricity, water, and roads, whereas the BJP government has achieved significant development in these areas.

He made similar statements during gatherings in Ahmedabad’s Dariyapur, Khadia, and Lambha areas. Referring to the action against illegal properties, he remarked, “We all know which parties are troubled by the bulldozer targeting criminals’ illegal properties.”

Sanghvi assured that those who commit crimes against citizens will not be spared, and serious offenders will remain in jail.

Regarding Dariyapur, he described it as not just a locality but the heart of Ahmedabad, highlighting its historical poles, narrow lanes, and temples as part of the city’s heritage. He noted that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel began his public life here after being elected as a municipal councilor in 1917.

In Khadia, he referred to the area as “sacred, revolutionary, and the center of the rise of the Janata Party,” paying tribute to former leader Ashok Bhatt.

He recalled past challenges in law and order, mentioning that organizing the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath used to be difficult, often marred by attacks, stone-pelting, and gunfire.

At the Lambha gathering, Sanghvi discussed various development projects, stating that infrastructure in the Lambha and Narol areas has been prioritized. He highlighted the rapid completion of new drainage lines and water purification projects to address flooding issues in Rangoli Nagar.

He also mentioned the inauguration of projects related to Lambha Lake, roads, and street lighting, along with the construction of urban health centers and community health centers.

Targeting those opposing the strengthening of the Disturbed Areas Act, he pointed out that certain parties, identifiable by their hand symbol, are uncomfortable with these enhancements.
