Ujjain, June 7: A massive crowd of devotees gathered at the world-renowned Mahakaleshwar Temple to participate in the Bhasma Aarti on the occasion of the seventh day of the Krishna Paksha during Jyeshtha Adhik Maas. From early morning, thousands of devotees arrived to witness the divine darshan of Baba Mahakal and partake in the sacred ceremony. The temple resonated with chants of “Jai Shri Mahakal,” creating a spiritually charged atmosphere.
According to tradition, Lord Mahakal was awakened at Brahma Muhurat on Sunday morning. Following this, the temple priests performed rituals and adorned the deity with special decorations. Baba Mahakal was beautifully adorned with Tripund made from bhang, a crescent moon on his head, and the divine Trinetra. This extraordinary form captivated the devotees.
After the adornment, sacred ash was offered to Lord Mahakal. During the Bhasma Aarti, the devotees present in the temple experienced a profound spiritual connection while witnessing the deity. It is believed that merely seeing Mahakal during the Bhasma Aarti alleviates the devotees’ sufferings and grants them special merit. This belief draws a large number of devotees from across the country and abroad to Ujjain.
Devotees began lining up late at night to participate in the Bhasma Aarti. The temple administration made special arrangements for the convenience and safety of the devotees. Additional staff and security personnel were deployed to ensure a smooth darshan experience.
As the divine adornment of Baba Mahakal was completed, devotees were overwhelmed with emotion during their darshan. Many folded their hands in prayer, while others were seen chanting praises of Mahakal. The temple complex witnessed a remarkable confluence of devotion, faith, and reverence.
On this auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Adhik Maas, the special worship and Bhasma Aarti at Mahakaleshwar Temple filled the devotees with spiritual energy.
