
Mau, March 29: A severe road accident occurred in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, late Saturday night. A bus carrying pilgrims from Ayodhya to Ballia lost control and crashed into a tree around 1:30 AM on the Ratnapura-Mubarakpur road. Approximately 40 individuals were injured, including women, children, and the elderly. The impact was so intense that the front of the bus was severely damaged. Local residents assisted in transporting the injured to Jogapur Community Health Center and the District Hospital in Mau.
The pilgrims were returning home after attending the Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mahayagna, which took place from March 20 to March 28 in Ayodhya. The accident caused chaos at the scene, prompting nearby villagers to rush to help. With their support, the injured were quickly taken to the community health center and later to the district hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Upon receiving news of the incident, police arrived promptly to initiate rescue operations. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
Earlier, on March 23, a bus operated by the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation, traveling from Pilibhit to Delhi, was involved in a collision with an unidentified vehicle in the Babugarh area of Hapur. The bus driver was killed, and 11 passengers sustained injuries. Police have registered a report against the unknown vehicle’s driver based on a complaint and have begun their investigation.
