Dewas, March 16: A massive fire erupted in a scrap yard on the Indore-Bhopal road near the Rasulpur bypass in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. Firefighters have been battling the blaze for over six hours. The cause of the fire remains unknown. Firefighter Anubhav Chandel reported that the fire was first reported around 4:30 AM by the police control room. Between 10 to 12 fire engines are currently on-site attempting to extinguish the flames.
Chandel mentioned that the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. The scrap yard contains sharp glass pieces, foam, and mattresses. He noted that no one has provided information about the incident. If chemicals are present, they could have spontaneously ignited the fire. Currently, all materials in the area are dry, suggesting that the fire may not have started on its own. He added that an additional five to six fire engines will be needed to fully control the situation.
Recently, several states across the country have experienced similar fire incidents. On Monday, a fire broke out in Pune at a closed grocery warehouse in Mamurdi around 5 AM, causing panic among nearby residents.
Just a day earlier, a significant fire at the Nature Market in Delhi’s Andheria Mod created chaos, destroying over 50 shops. A local resident shared their concerns about the impact on affected shopkeepers.
On March 11, another fire incident occurred in the Bindapur police station area of Delhi around midnight. The blaze was so intense that it took until 3 AM to bring it under control, resulting in the destruction of approximately 80 shanties.
