Delhi Unveils Winter Action Plan to Combat Pollution
The Delhi government has launched a Winter Action Plan to tackle pollution from November 1 to February 28, implementing strict measures.

New Delhi, October 20 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi government has announced a comprehensive Winter Action Plan aimed at addressing rising pollution levels during the winter months. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the plan will be in effect from November 1 to February 28.
Key measures include a “No PUC, No Fuel” policy and a ban on vehicles that do not meet BS-6 emission standards. Stringent regulations will target construction dust, with AI cameras monitoring compliance. The plan also emphasizes remote working, with a push for 50% of the workforce to operate from home. Additionally, public transport, including buses and the metro, will be enhanced for better connectivity.
In a video message, Chief Minister Gupta urged residents to take responsibility for pollution control. She stated, “Last year, there was a call for stricter actions. This year, we have proactively implemented measures based on that feedback.” The plan details what actions will be taken throughout the winter season.
Gupta highlighted that vehicles not meeting BS-6 standards will be barred from entering Delhi, emphasizing the “No PUC, No Fuel” rule for residents. She noted the availability of electric buses and expanded metro routes, as well as ongoing efforts to improve last-mile connectivity and enforce a construction ban.
On social media, Gupta reiterated the urgency of the Winter Action Plan, which includes prohibitions on construction activities, AI-based site monitoring, and staggered office hours to promote remote work. The initiative aims to make transportation more environmentally friendly through the use of electric vehicles, metro services, and carpooling. “Every step counts for our right to breathe clean air. Our Delhi, our responsibility,” she concluded.
