Visakhapatnam, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : Heavy rainfall is anticipated in coastal Andhra Pradesh from October 15 to 17, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This weather pattern is linked to activities in the Bay of Bengal, particularly the formation of a low-pressure area. Dr. P.L.N. Murthy, the director of IMD, indicated that a cyclonic circulation over the South Andaman Sea is expected to lead to this development by October 13.
The IMD warns that the impact of this weather system will likely be felt in coastal Andhra Pradesh and surrounding regions. Dr. Murthy noted that the cyclonic circulation extends up to approximately 5.8 kilometers above sea level. The department is closely monitoring the situation as the low-pressure area is projected to intensify and move in a west-northwest direction, potentially affecting the coasts of Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh.
As the system approaches the coast, significant rainfall may occur in these areas. While the IMD has indicated the likelihood of heavy rain on the specified dates, it also emphasized the need for ongoing observation regarding the intensity and future development of the low-pressure area.
