Allegations of Election Fraud in the U.S. Involve 16 Individuals, Including Three Pakistani Nationals

The U.S. Department of Justice has charged 16 individuals, including three Pakistani citizens, with various election-related offenses ahead of midterm elections.

Washington, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : With less than a month to go before the crucial midterm elections, the U.S. Department of Justice has announced charges against 16 individuals, including three Pakistani nationals, for various election-related offenses. These allegations encompass illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration, and falsely claiming U.S. citizenship, with incidents reported across multiple states.

The Pakistani citizens involved have been identified as Jameel Ahmed (50), Nighat Jameel (47), and Arshad Zuberi (69). According to the Justice Department, both Jameel and Nighat Jameel are accused of voting in the 2024 elections in Pennsylvania’s Eastern District while not being U.S. citizens. At the time of voting, they held lawful permanent resident status.

Arshad Zuberi, also a lawful permanent resident, faces allegations of illegally voting in federal elections in Ohio’s Northern District. Prosecutors claim that Zuberi registered as a voter in September 2015 and August 2016, during which he falsely identified himself as a U.S. citizen. Records from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections in Ohio indicate that he participated in at least six elections.

These charges against the three Pakistani nationals are part of a broader announcement by federal officials regarding 16 election-related cases. The allegations include non-citizens voting in federal elections, voting multiple times, casting ballots under deceased individuals’ names, and fraudulently obtaining citizenship.

In New Mexico, Patrick Perea (62) has been charged with casting a fraudulent vote in the upcoming November 2024 general election. In Alabama, two permanent residents from Peru and Jamaica are accused of voting despite not being U.S. citizens.

Another suspect, Forest Scott Woody (68) from North Carolina, faces accusations of voting twice in the 2024 presidential election—once in North Carolina and again in Alabama. In Missouri, Cuban national Andres Garcia (64), also a permanent resident, is charged with voting illegally in the 2022 and 2024 federal elections.

Prosecutors allege that Garcia falsely claimed U.S. citizenship during his voter registration and participated in numerous elections over nearly two decades. The announcement from the Justice Department also references cases involving citizens from Canada, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Poland, and the Philippines.

In Idaho, Canadian citizen Stanley Walton (82) has been charged with illegal voting in the 2022 general election. Similarly, Sandra Madeline Watson (59), a Canadian permanent resident in Kentucky, faces allegations of voting illegally in federal elections. In New Jersey, Lizabeth Almonte Rosa (24), originally from the Dominican Republic and now a U.S. citizen, is charged with voting while not a citizen and obtaining citizenship fraudulently.
