BJP Criticizes Akhilesh Yadav Over Empty Chairs at PDA Conference
BJP targets Akhilesh Yadav after empty chairs at the PDA conference, questioning internal discord within the Samajwadi Party.

Lucknow, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken aim at the Samajwadi Party (SP) following its PDA (Backward, Dalit, and Minority) conference in Uttar Pradesh. BJP spokesperson Dinesh Pratap Singh pointed out the empty chairs during the event in Kannauj, alleging internal factionalism within the SP.
Singh criticized SP leader Akhilesh Yadav for renaming the party’s manifesto to “Pran Patra,” stating that merely changing the name does not alter intentions. He highlighted the recent dissolution of the SP’s state executive and all frontal organizations following discussions between Yadav and the party president. This move raised questions about the ongoing factional struggles within the party.
Earlier, a brawl in Gorakhpur led to the disbandment of the local executive, and now the empty chairs at the Kannauj conference have resulted in further organizational changes.
The BJP spokesperson also reacted to the SP’s announcement to release its manifesto on Constitution Day, November 26, suggesting that despite the new title, the party’s goals remain unchanged. Singh pointed out that the SP had previously changed its leader in the Legislative Council, replaced its party president in Uttarakhand, and altered candidates during elections.
Minister Narendra Kumar Kashyap stated that before releasing the PDA manifesto, Yadav should address the concerns of his party members and the people of Uttar Pradesh. He referenced the two candidates nominated for the Rajya Sabha, questioning their selection, which included Yadav’s uncle and a wealthy individual.
BJP MP Prakash Pal responded to the challenge issued by Chandrashekhar Azad, the national president of the Azad Samaj Party, to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Pal asserted that Azad’s political relevance is diminishing and praised Adityanath as an “unbeaten warrior” with a notable political history, having served five terms as an MP, once as a member of the Legislative Council, and once as an MLA.
Pal also addressed comments made by Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput, who suggested that those who do not recognize Gandhi and Nehru as leaders cannot be considered patriots. Pal emphasized that every individual has the right to their own opinion regarding leadership, asserting that personal beliefs about leadership should not be imposed on others. He controversially claimed that Sardar Patel was a greater leader than Nehru, accusing Nehru of securing the prime ministership through electoral manipulation.
