New Delhi, February 9: The Delhi Police has taken note of reports regarding the unauthorized online circulation of an unpublished book titled “Four Stars of Destiny,” written by former Army Chief General M.M. Naravane. In response, the police have filed a First Information Report (FIR).
According to police sources, information surfaced on various social media platforms and news outlets indicating that the pre-print version of the book is available online, despite lacking the necessary approvals from competent authorities for publication.
An initial investigation by the police revealed that a typeset PDF copy of the book, prepared by Penguin Random House India Private Limited, is accessible on certain websites.
Additionally, some online shopping and marketing platforms displayed the book’s final cover, creating the impression that it was already available for sale.
Given the sensitivity of the matter, the case has been registered with a special unit of the Delhi Police to investigate the alleged leak or breach.
Investigators are working to determine how the handwritten copy was leaked, who uploaded it online, and whether any organized network was involved in the dissemination of unauthorized content.
The police are also conducting a thorough examination of digital evidence to trace the source and distribution of the PDF copy, coordinating with online platforms in the process.
This incident comes just a week after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was reportedly seen with a copy of the book inside the Parliament premises.
The situation has sparked a significant political controversy, leading to disruptions in Lok Sabha proceedings and the suspension of eight MPs for the remainder of the budget session.
