New Delhi, 25 August (Kiran News): Delhi Metro commuters will now have to pay higher fares as the new fare structure comes into effect from Monday. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has revised the fares, resulting in a slight increase.

According to DMRC officials, this fare hike is modest, with ticket prices increasing by ₹1 to ₹4 depending on the distance travelled. On the Airport Express Line, the maximum increase is up to ₹5.
The revised fare is applicable based on the journey distance. DMRC stated that care has been taken to ensure the increase does not put an extra burden on passengers.
After the change, the minimum fare for Delhi Metro is now ₹11, while the maximum fare has been set at ₹64.
It is noteworthy that the last time DMRC revised its fares was in 2017, following the recommendations of the Fourth Fare Fixation Committee. Until 24 August, the minimum fare was ₹10 and the maximum fare was ₹60.
