New Delhi, March 23: The political and administrative activity in Delhi has intensified ahead of the budget session. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with ministers Parvesh Verma, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra, and other leaders, hosted a traditional ‘Kheer Ceremony’. During this event, schoolgirls were served kheer, symbolizing the formal commencement of the budget session.
BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay spoke to a news agency, stating, “We cannot provide details yet. The Chief Minister will present the budget, emphasizing the overall development of Delhi, reflecting the prosperity and progress the city has witnessed in the past year.”
BJP MLA Harish Khurana mentioned that the government has focused on the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, considering every section of society. He noted that this phase of the budget session is crucial, as the economic survey will be presented first, followed by the budget itself.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has threatened to boycott the budget session. They stated that if the suspension of their four MLAs is not revoked, they will not participate. In response, Minister Ashish Sood remarked that anyone attempting to create chaos will face consequences. He clarified that the Speaker’s decision is final and should not be commented upon.
Regarding the upcoming budget, Ashish Sood stated that the past year has been one of change and reform in governance. He highlighted the work done under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership. He assured that the government would not impose any additional burden on the public, dismissing ongoing speculations about electricity rate hikes as baseless.
BJP MLA Karnail Singh also emphasized that this budget has been crafted with the needs of farmers, women, youth, and the transgender community in mind.
Additionally, Minister Ravinder Inderjit Singh commented on the potential increase in electricity rates, advising against speculation without facts. He assured that all decisions would be made based on solid grounds.
