David Dhawan Celebrates Character Artists as the Heart of His Films

Mumbai, March 16: Renowned director David Dhawan makes his return to filmmaking with the romantic-comedy drama “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.” The film stars Varun Dhawan alongside Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in lead roles.

Recently, David and Varun appeared on the popular show “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” where David shared insights from his past films. He particularly praised the supporting actors of Bollywood.

David emphasized that often, these character artists outshine the lead heroes and play a crucial role in a film’s success. He humorously remarked, “Heroes come and go. They sometimes forget their lines, but these character artists are always outstanding. They never make mistakes and are always perfect.”

He mentioned several legendary actors, including Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, and Paresh Rawal, highlighting their incredible talent. According to David, their presence elevates the comedy in his films significantly.

He noted that these artists leave such a lasting impact in even minor roles that audiences remember them for years. Often, the true joy of a film comes from the dialogues and performances of these supporting actors.

In “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,” alongside Varun, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde take center stage. The film also features a talented ensemble cast, including Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, and Chunky Pandey. Produced by Ramesh Taurani, the film is presented by Tips Films.

However, the release date of the film has seen multiple changes and is now set for June 12. Initially, the makers announced a release on June 5, but due to various reasons, the date has been postponed.
