CPRI Recruitment 2026: Applications Open for 110 Positions Including Engineering Officers

Bengaluru, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : The Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Power in India, has officially announced a recruitment drive for various positions, including Engineering Officers. A total of 110 vacancies are available as part of this initiative.

Among these positions, there are seven openings for Engineering Officer Grade-I (Electrical), one for Engineering Officer Grade-I (Civil), ten for Engineering Assistant (Electrical), one for Engineering Assistant (Mechanical), and two for Scientific Assistant (Chemistry). Additionally, there are seven Technician Grade-I (Electrical) roles, two for Technician Grade-I (Mechanical), 37 for Technical Attendant Grade-I, 29 for Assistant Grade-II, and 14 for Multi-Tasking Staff Grade-I (Watch and Ward Duty).

The online application process commenced on September 19 at 10 AM and will remain open until October 12. Interested candidates can complete their registration on the CPRI official website before 5 PM on the deadline date.

Applicants must hold a first-class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology, a three-year diploma, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized board or institution. Candidates should also possess a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score from the years 2024, 2025, or 2026 and relevant work experience of five years, as stipulated for each position.

The minimum age for applicants is set at 18 years, while the maximum age ranges from 25 to 35 years, depending on the position. Age calculations will be based on the application submission deadline, with relaxations available for candidates from reserved categories.

Selection will be conducted through application screening, GATE score verification, a computer-based test (CBT), and skill or trade tests. Selected candidates can expect a monthly salary ranging from ₹18,000 to ₹1,42,400, along with additional benefits and allowances.

During the application process, candidates are required to pay the prescribed application fee online, which is set at ₹1,000 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates applying for Engineering Officer Grade-I, Scientific Assistant, and Engineering Assistant positions. For Technician Grade-I, Assistant Grade-II, and Technical Attendant Grade-I roles, the fee is ₹700. SC, ST, PWD, ex-servicemen, and women are exempt from the registration fee.
