New Delhi, July 29: The Patiala House Court in Delhi has temporarily stayed the non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued against Aishi Ghosh, the Joint Secretary of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI). This relief was granted during a hearing on her petition seeking the cancellation of the warrant.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for August 30, when the court has instructed Aishi Ghosh to appear in person.
This case is linked to a criminal matter registered in 2021 at the Barakhamba Road police station in Delhi. Aishi Ghosh is accused of participating in a protest where she allegedly violated orders issued by government officials. Her absence during court proceedings led to the issuance of the initial non-bailable warrant.
In her petition, Aishi Ghosh informed the court that she could not attend the previous hearing due to unavoidable circumstances. Based on this, she requested the cancellation of the non-bailable warrant. The court has currently stayed the execution of the warrant until August 30 and directed her to be present on that date.
Earlier, on April 11, 2026, the court noted that the non-bailable warrant against Aishi Ghosh could not be executed because she was not found at the address provided to the investigating agencies. The court also recorded that she was informed of the hearing date via phone, yet she failed to appear.
Considering these circumstances, the court instructed the Delhi Police’s Deputy Commissioner (DCP) to issue a new non-bailable warrant and scheduled the matter for a hearing on July 30. During this hearing, Aishi Ghosh’s petition to cancel the warrant was presented to the court.
The court has now clarified that Aishi Ghosh must appear in person on August 30, when it will hear her petition and continue with the case proceedings.
