
Greater Noida witnessed a tragic incident late on the night of January 28-29, when a couple reportedly consumed a poisonous substance following a domestic dispute. The couple’s untimely death has shocked the local community.
The deceased have been identified as Shravan, son of Amarnath Pal, and his wife Neelam. Originally from Asarwal Kala village under Airport police station in Prayagraj district, the couple was residing in Sadullapur village, under Ecotech-III police station in Greater Noida.
According to reports, the couple ingested poison amid escalating family tensions. On receiving information, relatives and neighbours rushed them to the nearest hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, both were declared dead upon arrival by the hospital authorities.
The couple’s three children—Vaishnavi (around 10 years), Vaibhav (around 8 years), and Lado (around 4 years)—were also affected and admitted to hospital. Medical officials have stated that all three children are now stable and out of danger.
Ecotech-III police reached the scene promptly and initiated necessary legal procedures. The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem after completing the formalities to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Police officials have said that further clarity on the case will emerge once the post-mortem report is received. The investigation is ongoing to understand the circumstances that led to this fatal decision by the couple.
