Controversy Surrounds Release of Dhurandhar 2, Says ST Hasan

Moradabad, March 19: The Bollywood film ‘Dhurandhar 2’, featuring actor Ranveer Singh, premiered in theaters on Thursday. The movie has sparked political debates, particularly regarding its portrayal of former mafia figure Atiq Ahmed’s connections with the ISI. In response, Samajwadi Party MP ST Hasan shared his views during an interview with a news agency.

Hasan stated, “Our police are well aware of who is connected to whom. Whether it’s the ISI, CIA, or KGB, our intelligence agencies and police have not disclosed anything yet. What the filmmakers reveal is uncertain. Their primary goal is to make their movie successful, and people fall into their trap. They create buzz, and then audiences become eager to watch the film.”

He commented on the film’s references to demonetization and the direct link between gangster Dawood and the ISI, saying, “We have heard about Dawood’s connections. Everyone knows his history. We are certain about his ties to the ISI. As for Atiq Ahmed, Indian investigative agencies have yet to disclose anything. Movies are currently being made for political purposes, lacking any social message.”

The filmmaker often stirs controversy, leading to media frenzy, which in turn piques public interest in the film. Hasan expressed concern that filmmakers might be receiving funds from political parties to spread hatred. He suggested that these films are not only aimed at fostering animosity towards Pakistan but also at disrupting Hindu-Muslim harmony. “Why are today’s films not promoting communal harmony like before?” he questioned.

Hasan also criticized BJP MP Kangana Ranaut for her recent comments about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that she should first reflect on the content circulating on social media. He lamented that the level of politics has significantly declined.
