Bareilly, May 28: Maulana Shahabuddin Rajvi, the national president of the All India Muslim Jamaat, has expressed strong disapproval regarding a viral video allegedly showing a bhajan-kirtan at the Taj Mahal. He questioned who authorized such an event at a historic and protected monument.
Rajvi emphasized that activities of this nature should not be permitted within the Taj Mahal complex. If they occurred, it reflects a serious lapse in administrative oversight. He stated that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and Taj Mahal management must ensure strict adherence to regulations.
He criticized the organization of this event, pointing out that many activities are already prohibited at the site. He labeled it a “mischievous act” and called for legal action against those responsible to prevent any future religious or controversial activities at historical sites.
Rajvi warned that if bhajan-kirtan can happen today, other activities could follow, potentially disrupting the country’s peace. He believes that individuals with communal motives deliberately instigate such events to create societal tension. Therefore, identifying and taking strict action against these individuals is crucial.
He also called for an investigation into the roles of officials responsible for the security and management of the Taj Mahal, as it was their duty to prevent any rule violations.
Additionally, Maulana Rajvi expressed concern over misleading information spreading on social media. He noted that attempts to incite youth and create confusion in society are rampant, particularly targeting Muslim youth with various viral videos and posts.
He mentioned certain social media channels linked to Pakistan and individuals abroad who make inflammatory statements against India. Rajvi demanded stringent monitoring of such channels and individuals, advocating for bans if necessary. He stressed that the unity and peace of the nation must not be compromised, and it is essential to curb hate-mongering forces from the outset.
