Controversy Erupts in Bihar Politics Following Mukesh Sahnis Provocative Remarks
Mukesh Sahnis inflammatory comments about the Chief Election Commissioner spark backlash among Bihar politicians.

Patna, September 24 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions have escalated in Bihar following controversial remarks made by Mukesh Sahni, the leader of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). During a conversation with reporters, Sahni stated that if given the chance, he would shoot Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, claiming, “If I could get away with one murder, I would shoot Gyanesh Kumar.”
His comments have drawn sharp criticism from leaders within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP MP Manoj Tiwari responded strongly, stating, “Defeated individuals make such statements. This kind of language has no place in democracy. I am shocked by his words. The Election Commission of India is currently receiving accolades worldwide.”
In response to a recent incident in Jamui, Tiwari expressed his sorrow, saying, “The events in Jamui are deeply distressing. Such horrific thinking is troubling. I am somewhat satisfied with the actions taken by the Bihar government, but there should be stricter measures. Those responsible should face punishment that serves as a deterrent to society. Such individuals deserve the death penalty.”
Bihar government minister Mithilesh Tiwari also weighed in, saying, “If someone born in the land of democracy uses such language, the public is listening and watching everything.”
Minister Santosh Suman echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that statements like Sahni’s should never be made in a constitutional framework. He remarked, “Such comments reflect a level of aggression that should be avoided.”
Sahni’s remarks were made against the backdrop of his belief that democracy is being undermined, claiming that the principles laid out by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Constitution are being trampled upon. He insisted that elections are meant for the people, not just for leaders, stating, “The public has the power to remove leaders who do not perform their duties properly.”
