Congresss Historical Oversight of Dr. Ambedkar Highlighted by Minister Dilip Jaiswal

Patna, March 14: Ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, Minister Dilip Jaiswal commented on the Congress party’s decision to relocate its legislators. He stated, “Perhaps Congress does not trust its own legislators, but our members are actively engaged in Patna, as they know we stand firmly by our party principles. These principles elevate individuals to great heights of success.”

In response to remarks made by opposition leader Rahul Gandhi regarding Kanshi Ram, Jaiswal asserted, “If Congress had genuinely respected great leaders like Kanshi Ram, Jagjivan Ram, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Dr. Ambedkar would not have been denied the Bharat Ratna even after so many years of independence due to the agreements made by Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government. When Dr. Ambedkar passed away, Congress did not provide land for his burial or memorial. His wife had to transport his body to Mumbai for burial. Congress has built a memorial for their own family on 200 acres, yet they did not establish a memorial for Dr. Bhim Rao for 70 years. It was only when the Narendra Modi government came to power that a memorial for Bhim Rao Ambedkar was constructed in Delhi. Congress members should recognize their true commitment to the Dalit community.”

During a constitutional conference held in Lucknow, Rahul Gandhi remarked that if Kanshi Ram had been around during Pandit Nehru’s era, he would have been the Chief Minister from the Congress party. Gandhi emphasized that Congress has failed to fulfill its responsibilities in the past, which forced leaders like Kanshi Ram to pursue separate political paths. He added that had Congress effectively worked during that time, Kanshi Ram would not have needed to struggle independently. Nehru would have ensured that Kanshi Ram reached the position of Chief Minister.
