Congresss Allegations on Voter Fraud Baseless, Says Karnataka Opposition Leader
Karnatakas opposition leader dismisses Congresss claims of voter fraud, asserting no evidence has been presented.

Bengaluru, October 27 (Daily Kiran) : Karnataka Legislative Council’s opposition leader, Chaluvaraya Narayana Swamy, has launched a strong critique against the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi over allegations concerning the State Information Report (SIR) and voter fraud. He argued that the Congress is fabricating a controversy due to a lack of substantial issues against the central government, stating that no serious faults have yet been identified and that eligible voters still have the opportunity to register.
Swamy remarked, “They needed an issue for protests. There is no major controversy within the central government, and they cannot find any corruption issues. Therefore, they have seized upon the SIR to create a national issue. Most states have already completed the SIR process, with only a few remaining. Yet, no significant faults have emerged, and still, Rahul Gandhi continues to claim voter fraud.”
He questioned whether any votes had actually been stolen, emphasizing that there is no evidence to support such claims. “They have nothing to provide as proof, yet they keep insisting that votes have been stolen. How is this possible? The public is beginning to understand this situation. They have found an opportunity to mislead people without any concrete arguments. The Supreme Court has also indicated several times that this issue is unfounded, yet they persist,” Swamy added.
He recalled a time during Indira Gandhi’s rule when the country faced an emergency, arguing that such actions are not possible today. “Prime Minister Modi is a strong leader, recognized not just in India but globally. The Congress cannot accept this reality, which is why they are resorting to these tactics.”
Swamy clarified that the SIR process is standard procedure and conducted according to the law. He encouraged anyone whose name has not been registered to fill out Form-6, as there is still time. The Election Commission is ensuring that no eligible voter is left out, yet protests continue. “The public will respond to this,” he asserted.
In response to another query, Swamy stated that mere suspicion does not constitute proof of wrongdoing. He reiterated that the process is in place for those who need to register. Regarding the FIR filed against Mallikarjun Kharge’s statements in Patna, he called for a fair investigation but criticized the language used, suggesting that Congress should maintain decorum while in opposition.
Swamy emphasized that Prime Minister Modi holds a constitutional position representing 1.4 billion people, while the Congress president represents only the party. “Respecting the office of the Prime Minister is everyone’s responsibility. Criticism is welcome, but it should be done with decorum. Using harsh or derogatory language is unbecoming of a senior politician.”
