Congress Discusses National and International Issues in Parliamentary Strategy Meeting

New Delhi, March 8: Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain, the Congress General Secretary in charge, stated that the Congress Parliamentary Strategy Committee held an extensive discussion on national and international issues.

He mentioned that the committee decided to raise international matters during the second phase of the budget session. The ongoing crisis in West Asia and its impact on India will also be addressed.

Additionally, the committee plans to highlight the potential losses to Indian farmers from the Indo-US trade deal and will demand discussions on fiscal crises and fiscal centralization in the House.

Dr. Hussain emphasized the need for the Modi government to clarify its stance on the Ladakh issue. The committee also seeks to discuss the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir in the House. Concerns regarding the Green Tribunal’s approval of the Great Nicobar Project will be raised, as it poses a significant environmental threat in the future.

The Congress leader expressed the intention to discuss the collapse of urban governance, rising unemployment, and the continuous depreciation of the rupee. He called for a comprehensive debate on these issues, along with foreign policy and other critical aspects of the country. All opposition parties will vote against the Speaker regarding the no-confidence motion that was moved.

He announced that a meeting of floor leaders from opposition parties will take place tomorrow (Monday) at 10 AM in the chamber of Congress President and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, to discuss these matters.
