CM Rekha Gupta Accuses TMC of Sabotaging Kolkata Roadshow by Turning Off Streetlights

Kolkata, April 21: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has leveled serious allegations against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government. During a roadshow in Kolkata, she claimed that local authorities deliberately turned off streetlights in a specific area to disrupt her campaign and endanger the lives of thousands gathered in support of BJP candidates.

Addressing a massive crowd in the dark, the Chief Minister stated, “The way all streetlights have been turned off to prevent me from campaigning is unacceptable. If any accidents occur in these streets today, I urge all media personnel to hold the TMC government, its goons, and the administration fully responsible.”

She emphasized that thousands had gathered, and with all streetlights off, any lapse in security would fall on Mamata Didi.

Expressing confidence in the BJP’s prospects, Gupta remarked that the public is witnessing how they are blessing their candidates. “This time, the BJP will certainly come to power in Bengal,” she asserted. She also criticized TMC’s record on women’s safety and respect, stating that women in Bengal live in fear and insecurity.

Gupta recalled past comments by Mamata Banerjee, questioning the need for women to go out at night. She accused the TMC and its allies of unjust treatment towards women, highlighting that atrocities against them have persisted in Bengal for the last 15 years.

The roadshow attracted a large turnout, which Gupta interpreted as a clear sign of shifting political winds in favor of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for development and good governance.
