
Lucknow, June 17: The second ODI match between India and Afghanistan is set to take place on Wednesday at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The Lucknow police have implemented extensive measures to ensure the match is conducted safely and peacefully.
In an exclusive interview, Lucknow Joint Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Babloo Kumar stated, “Comprehensive security arrangements have been ensured by the Lucknow police for the match. A special team has thoroughly inspected the stadium and surrounding areas. CCTV and surveillance systems are in place. There is a three-tier security arrangement around the stadium, divided into internal, middle, and outer zones. We have deployed three SP rank officers, six Additional SPs, and 16 Deputy SPs, who are leading the police forces.”
Regarding traffic management, he mentioned, “Extensive arrangements have also been made to maintain smooth traffic flow. One SP, three Additional SPs, and eight Deputy SPs have been assigned to oversee this.”
He added, “Both teams have been provided with tight security. They will be escorted from their hotel to the stadium with strict security measures in place. Approximately 3,000 police personnel have been deployed to help maintain peace during the match, allowing fans to enjoy the game. Spectators will only be allowed into the stadium after thorough checks.”
The Lucknow police have appealed to fans to maintain peace and adhere to the rules.
The Indian team is currently leading the ODI series 1-0 after winning the first match played in Dharamshala.
