CMG and Laos Sign Cooperation Agreements to Enhance Cultural Exchange

Beijing, June 6: In a significant move to strengthen ties, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, witnessed the signing of a cooperation memorandum. This event took place in Beijing, where Shan Haixiong, Deputy Minister of the CPC Central Committee’s Propaganda Department and Director-General of China Media Group (CMG), signed the agreement with Bounleua Phandanouvong, head of the International Department of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.

Additionally, CMG signed separate cooperation documents with the Lao Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, and the National University of Laos.

These agreements aim to promote practical collaboration in areas such as program development, film and television exchanges, joint event organization, and personnel exchanges. The goal is to contribute to the establishment of a shared future community between China and Laos in this new era.

The Propaganda Department of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party is responsible for ideological development, theoretical research, publicity, education, and news communication. Meanwhile, the Lao Ministry of Culture and Tourism focuses on advancing the country’s cultural and tourism sectors. The Ministry of Education and Sports oversees education and sports, while the National University of Laos is recognized as the largest and most comprehensive national university in the country.
