CM Yogi Critiques TMC Amidst Bengal Elections, Highlights Youth and Farmer Distress

Kolkata, April 20: In a rally held in the Pingla assembly constituency, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged voters to support BJP candidates under the scorching sun. Addressing the tribal community and other attendees, he expressed concerns over the plight of youth, farmers, and the industrial sector in Bengal, claiming that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government is solely focused on appeasement.

He accused various mafias, including those involved in sand, coal, land, and cattle, of exploiting Bengal, while Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is only irritated by the chant of “Jai Shri Ram.” He criticized her for not allowing Durga Puja celebrations and imposing restrictions on immersion processions, leading to disturbances and stone-pelting during festivals.

Recalling the state of Uttar Pradesh before 2017, CM Yogi noted that expressing devotion to Lord Ram would result in violence, but now, devotees are welcomed. He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh has become a place free from curfews and riots, with a crackdown on mafia activities through bulldozer actions.

He explained that ‘Pingla’ translates to ‘saffron,’ symbolizing the spiritual heritage of the region. The fertile land, nurtured by the hard work of Bengal’s farmers, has yielded prosperity. He highlighted the elevation of tribal culture and noted that for the first time, a tribal woman has been elected to the presidency.

Yogi criticized the Congress and TMC for their long governance, which he claims neglected the upliftment of Scheduled Castes and Tribes. He condemned their disrespect towards Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the violation of presidential protocols in Bengal.

He pointed out the disrespect shown to President Droupadi Murmu during parliamentary sessions, attributing similar behavior to TMC, Congress, DMK, and SP. He stated that these parties have consistently insulted women, youth, farmers, and the poor, and that the public will not tolerate a government involved in corruption.

CM Yogi recalled that the spark from Barrackpore ignited the flames of the First War of Independence. He honored national leaders like Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, and Subhas Chandra Bose, asserting that Bengal’s land has historically provided leadership and should be freed from TMC’s chaos.

While campaigning for BJP candidates Swagata Manna from Pingla and Suvendu Adhikari from Keshpur, he lamented that Bengal, once known as the golden land of India, has suffered under the rule of Congress, Leftists, and TMC. He reported that over 7,000 large industries and more than 18,000 MSME units have shut down, leaving over 3 million youth unemployed. The production of potatoes, rice, and fish has seen a continuous decline, with farmers struggling to receive fair prices for their produce.

He drew parallels with Uttar Pradesh’s past, where farmers and youth were disheartened, and women felt unsafe. He noted that now, in Uttar Pradesh, there are no communal tensions, and tribal communities have access to housing, land, and essential services without discrimination.

CM Yogi criticized the TMC government for halting fencing along the Bangladesh border, which he claims has allowed cow slaughter and smuggling to continue unchecked. He accused TMC goons of committing atrocities against tribal communities in 2022 and stated that under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, Bengal has faced lawlessness and mafia activities for 15 years. He assured that a double-engine government will protect the interests of Hindus and prevent cow slaughter in Bengal.
