New Delhi, August 25: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will distribute official letters to approximately 4,000 beneficiary women under the Delhi Laxmi Scheme at a special event held at the Talkatora Stadium on Wednesday.
This event symbolizes the ruling BJP’s commitment to fulfilling a significant electoral promise. The BJP returned to power in 2025 after more than 27 years, winning 48 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly.
So far, 652,000 women have submitted their final applications to receive a monthly financial aid of ₹2,500. The official website has recorded 913,000 registrations from women, who are at various stages of submitting documentation.
Before the large letter distribution event on Wednesday, the Chief Minister praised the enthusiasm of women for the monthly ₹2,500 economic empowerment scheme.
In a message on the social media platform ‘X’ on August 23, the Chief Minister stated, “The aim of the Delhi Laxmi Scheme is to bring greater financial strength, confidence, and freedom into everyday life. The tremendous enthusiasm among women across Delhi shows how deeply this initiative resonates with their hopes. Their trust is our blessing and our greatest motivation to work.”
Earlier, Chief Minister Gupta mentioned that eligible women would receive official letters at the event, and funds would start being credited directly to their bank accounts from September 1. This process will continue, ensuring that eligible women regularly benefit from the scheme.
She is closely monitoring the preparations for issuing letters under this scheme.
Chief Minister Gupta emphasized that district-level committees play a crucial role in the success of the initiative. She urged committee officials to thoroughly review and monitor each application so that eligible women can benefit from the scheme without delay.
She added, “The faster the verification process is completed, the quicker the cases will be resolved, and the process of disbursing pensions to eligible women will also accelerate.”
