CM Omar Abdullah Responds to Mehbooba Muftis Backdoor Appointment Claims

Ganderbal, May 10: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has hit back at PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti regarding her comments on ‘backdoor’ appointments. He sarcastically remarked that she does not understand Urdu or English. “Should I explain it to her in French?” he quipped.

During a media interaction, the Chief Minister challenged Mufti to name even one instance of a ‘backdoor’ appointment. “Just give me one name. Outsourcing is not ‘backdoor’ hiring. I am tired of trying to explain this to the PDP. They don’t understand Urdu or English. Should I explain it in French? There is a vast difference between ‘backdoor’ appointments and outsourcing. We are providing jobs. Where planning is needed, we use outsourcing, but this is not ‘backdoor’ hiring. The PDP is blaming us to hide their own faults,” he stated.

He humorously added that the PDP tells lies that can be caught within seconds.

While discussing development projects in the Ganderbal constituency, he noted that they have continued the initiatives started after his election victory. These projects include a library for youth, a youth hostel, and several new roads in various locations. A riverfront project has also been initiated to enhance the area’s beauty, which will benefit the city and attract more tourists.

Abdullah mentioned improvements being made to the district hospital in Ganderbal, where new machines are being installed. Patients will receive treatment at significantly lower costs. Tests that used to cost between 4,000 to 5,000 rupees in private hospitals will now be available for just 400 to 500 rupees.

Addressing the issue of substance abuse and the future of youth, he stated that no one is forced to drink alcohol. People are visiting liquor stores of their own accord, and no one can compel them.
